BUYING QUESTIONS
Good answers before you commit.
The XRF is a CO₂ laser system using an air-cooled metal RF laser source. Unlike a traditional glass CO₂ tube that requires a water chiller, the RF source is air cooled and designed for fast, precise engraving and cutting.
No. The RF laser source is air cooled, so a traditional water chiller is not required.
The laser system has thermal protection. If the RF source becomes too hot, protection may reduce or interrupt operation until temperatures return to an acceptable range. This helps protect the RF source from thermal damage.
The machine should be operated in a clean, well-ventilated, temperature-controlled environment within the specified operating range. For demanding production use, keeping the room comfortably below the upper temperature limit gives the cooling system more thermal headroom.
Common materials include wood, acrylic, leather, rubber, coated metals, anodized aluminum, plastics that are laser-safe, paper, cardboard, fabric, and many other CO₂-compatible materials.
It can directly mark certain coated or anodized metals, such as anodized aluminum. Bare-metal marking generally requires a suitable laser-marking compound. It is not a fiber laser and should not be sold as a replacement for a fiber laser for deep engraving or direct marking of most bare metals.
The XRF is designed for high-speed engraving and motion up to 1200 mm/s with 3G acceleration. Actual usable speed depends on the artwork, engraving size, acceleration, overscan space, DPI, material, and desired quality. Maximum machine speed should not be confused with the ideal processing speed for every job.
Yes. Depending on the setup, the Ruida controller can communicate through USB or Ethernet. For a stationary shop setup, Ethernet is often a good choice because it provides a stable network connection between the computer and controller.
